punta_mita_beach_festivalThe Punta Mita Beach Festival’s fifth edition promises bigger and better experiences this year at the Kupuri Beach Club in the Riviera Nayarit’s Glamour Peninsula from August 12-13, 2017.

This family-friendly event is held in association with the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors (CVB) and showcases the very best in sports, gastronomy and luxury in one of the most privileged spots in this tourism destination.

Attendees will also enjoy the many beach activities offered by the Kupuri Beach Club, including surfing, snorkeling, diving, paddle, yoga, windsurfing, stand up paddle, kayaks, canoes and kitesurfing (depending on the water conditions).

“The Punta Mita Beach Festival—along with the Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic—has become one of the most-awaited events of the year,” said Carl Emberson, Marketing and Operations Director. “Because of the success of the past few years we’re very excited about bringing it back for the express purpose of creating unforgettable family moments.

Now in its fifth year, the event promises unique experiences guided by experts like Yoga Master Zaira Gómez, who espouses the Ashtanga tradition; Adam Finer, owner of Surf México, SUP pioneers in Mexico and director of Punta Mita Ocean Sports; international surfers Fernando Stalla, who’s ranked among the top 10 in the world, and Verónica Finer, Stand Up Paddle champion at the 2012 National Games.

Pato Pérsico, Executive Chef for Punta Mita’s beach clubs, is in charge of the culinary experiences along with four guest chefs: Jesús Durón, Signature Chef of Carolina restaurant, a AAA Five Diamond experiences since it opened in 2008; Chef Julio Curiel of Sea Breeze at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort; Chef Sigi Anguiano of the Alquimista Cocktail Room; and Chef Esther Sánchez, of the Four Seasons Resorts Punta Mita’s Aramara Restaurant. Together they will create the gourmet beach BBQ, accompanied by the music of DJs Omar Covarrubias and Mauricio Lemus.

Event attendees will enjoy a selection of Patrón tequilas, as well as an ample array of cocktails created with Bombay Gin and Grey Goose Vodka, mixed up by Israel Díaz Pelayo, the Riviera Nayarit’s Mixology Ambassador. Saturday will be the designated “Beach Day” to the reggae beat of local band, Dreads Roots.

Youngsters will have their own activities, including the Underwater Treasure Hunt at Punto Iguano, family races at Starship, a beach soccer tournament, the Titan SUP Cross, and a 1 km race and obstacle course.

This year’s novelties include the POP Private Ocean Party Pacific Catamaran—the Hospitality Suite for the Punta Mita Beach Festival, sponsored by Punta Mita Expeditions—, and the Punta Mita Ocean Sports “Kupuri Derby,” which will be a combination of the Le Mans 24hrs and the America’s Cup, where participants have to compete in different disciplines including hobie cats, windsurfing, stand up paddling, kayaking, outrigger canoeing and kitesurfing.
