April 17, 2013 – Punta de Mita, Mexico
A friend just shot this aerial showing the progress of the new road to Punta de Mita from La Cruz. Soon we will be to bypass the winding road out of La Cruz. The new highway project has been planned and promised for more than eight years. The 4-lane road will extend 7.4 kilometers
Representing an investment of $250 million pesos (approximately $20 million USD) the long-promised four-lane highway runs between La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta de Mita. This important infrastructure project will benefit the entire North Shore of Banderas Bay, creating a faster, safer access to these north shore communities. The road will be constructed of hydrolic cement, replacing the existing 2-lane asphalt road that currently exists. Trish
Thanks for the info, we have been wondering what was happening with that project.
Will the existing road be closed and willl Destiladeris still be accessible from either road.
We stay in Punta Mita 2 mo. of the year and would love for that beach to remain accessible
for us.
Yes… we believe Destilarderas beach will remain accessible from both directions on the old road.
What’s up to all, it’s truly a nice for me to pay a quick visit
this site, it contains helpful Information.
Does anyone know when the highway will open? Now in late December 2013 and no news.
